Everything here matches how the app actually works. If your question isn't covered, please contact us.
In the app, go to Settings → Billing → Manage subscription, which opens the App Store's subscription page where you can cancel. You can also open the iPhone Settings app → your name → Subscriptions.
If you cancel at least 24 hours before the next renewal date, you won't be charged again. Cancellation is handled by Apple, so we can't cancel on your behalf.
Purchases are made through Apple, so refunds follow Apple's process. Request one from Apple's "Report a Problem" page (reportaproblem.apple.com) or from your App Store purchase history.
We can't process refunds ourselves.
The yearly plan includes a 7-day free trial (the monthly plan doesn't). If you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, you won't be charged.
Two days before the trial ends, we tell you the date billing starts, the price, and how to cancel. If notifications are allowed on your device you get a notification; if they aren't, or you miss it, the app shows a notice once when you open it on or after that day. You can always see the trial end date and billing start date in Settings → Billing.
On the free plan you can listen to up to 10 cards a day. It counts the number of different cards read aloud that day, so replaying the same card still counts as one. Cards heard during review and cards heard while just listening both count. Cards you only rated without sound don't count.
The day rolls over at 4:00 a.m. (changing the "day boundary" setting doesn't move it). The sample cards that come with the app don't count.
On your iPhone, go to Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content → Voices → the language you want, and download an Enhanced or Premium voice. Once downloaded, it appears in the app under Settings → Voice → Speech Voice, labeled with its quality (for example "Enhanced").
For a language with no high-quality voice installed, the app's Speech Voice screen shows these same steps.
From the Import tab you can bring in cards in these ways:
• Paste text (Add Text; the separator between cards is adjustable)
• Use "Write a prompt for AI" to make a prompt, paste it into your own AI app, then paste the result back
• "Import from a file": Anki packages (.apkg / .colpkg), CSV, TSV, and text files
• Text files (.txt / .md) placed in the import folder in iCloud Drive (Files app)
Steps for moving from Anki are in the app's help and in the Anki migration guide on this site.
Your cards and study history are stored only on your device. There is no cloud sync, and nothing is uploaded to our servers.
The only information that leaves your device is transaction information sent to the subscription-management service we use to check your purchase status, and the iCloud Drive import folder (synced by Apple). Crash summaries are recorded only on your device. See the Privacy Policy for details.
To export, go to Settings → Data Backup: it bundles cards, study history, tags, study sets, reading/pause rules, and playback settings into one file (individual voice choices and purchase status are not included). You can also export cards as CSV from the card list.
The app is available in 12 languages: Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic, and Vietnamese.
Cards can be read aloud in any language your iPhone can speak.
If this doesn't solve it, email us with your app version and what happened.
