If none of the above match your situation, or you just want to know what file formats work, here's the full list. EverRecall accepts:
On the import screen, tap "Copy prompt for AI". This copies a request formatted with your current delimiter settings. Paste it into ChatGPT or Gemini along with the text (or topic) you want turned into cards.
1. On the import screen, tap "Copy prompt for AI" 2. Paste it into ChatGPT or Gemini, then paste (or type) the text or topic you want cards from, and send 3. Use the copy button on the reply's code block to copy the result 4. Paste it into EverRecall's import screen, or share the selected text and choose "Send to EverRecall" (see "The share sheet's two actions" below)
Paste, sharing text through the share sheet, the iCloud folder, and text files (.txt / .md) all split cards using the same delimiter settings. You can change them anytime in the import screen's "Delimiters" section.
@@title: Book Title and @@author: Author Name (this symbol can also be changed in settings)The iPhone/iPad share sheet offers two different EverRecall actions — here's the difference:
The first column becomes the front, and the second column becomes the back. (This is a table format and isn't affected by the delimiter settings above.)
You can import an Anki export package directly. You don't need to change any export settings.
If you also want to carry over your study history (review intervals), turn on Include scheduling information in Anki's export screen before exporting. Files exported with it on let you choose "Carry over" or "Start fresh" when you import them into EverRecall. Files exported with it off are imported as brand-new cards.
Just drop .txt / .md files into an iCloud folder and they're picked up automatically, using the same delimiter rule described above. See the next page for details.
Some things don't carry over from Anki. Please keep this in mind before you start:
Drop .txt or .md files into the iCloud Drive → EverRecall folder (in the Files app), and EverRecall automatically scans it every time you open the app — adding only the newly placed files as cards.
